Non-Recurring Rides
August 1 (Sun) 6:00 PM C/CC 20–25 Orchard Grove Elementary School
Sunday Evening Road Ride
This ride will cover many of the roads that the Lights & Pizza rides cover. However, since we will not need to stay warm, we will climb fewer hills. The pace and terrain should be similar to Wednesday rides out of Utica Park.
August 7 (Sat)
Union Mills Corn Roast Rides
Many club members are planning on attending the Union Mills Corn Roast. The Baltimore Bicycle Club leads several rides from the site. Needless to say but these are not Frederick Pedaler rides. You should be prepared to follow their rules.
August 8 (Sun) 7:30 AM CC 43 Woodsboro Community Park
Recovery Ride
Glenn Angus created this ride to celebrate the recovery of various members from injuries. It wanders around northern Frederick County using roads we don't travel on much. There are no stores along the route, so pack some snacks and lots of water. There is a rest stop at the Cunningham Falls State Park Visitor's Center where there is a bathroom and water fountain. We don't know if Glenn will make it, but we will be using his cue sheet.
August 14-16
Tour of Frederick
No rides are planned for this weekend. The Tour of Frederick will be held then, and all of the ride leaders are volunteering for the event.
August 21 (Sat) 8:00 AM C/CC 46 Monocacy Middle School
Less Than a Half-Century
The scheduled ride will start from Monocacy Middle School parking lot and return after touring northern Frederick County. The ride will mostly consist of gentle rolling terrain with scenic views of areas the Pedalers frequently ride. There will be plenty time to socialize and challenge each other up and down the rolling terrain. This ride will give your legs a great workout. Our rest stop is scheduled for Sheetz in Thurmont but the group may stop prior if needed. No rider will be left behind, as this is a social ride at gentle CC pace. The ride leader will provide cell number on CUE sheet. Request that all riders observe safe cycling rules and when riding two abreast it's a good idea to continuously check your mirror for traffic approaching from the rear. Faster riders are welcome, and may proceed on their own.
August 22 (Sun) 8:30 AM CC ~50 Monocacy Middle School

Heading towards Thurmont and points farther north.
August 28 (Sat) 8:30 AM CC 49 Woodsboro Community Park
We're Going to Frizzellburg Road
Relive the glory that was the 2002 Frederick Pedaler Century Ride. Hear Bill Smith reminisce about the good old days. Of course we will stop for photos of the sign for Frizzellburg Road. The ride leader reserves the right to cancel, if it too hot. Check the yahoo group for late breaking news.
Recurring Rides
Mondays 6:00 pm C 20–25 Taneytown Memorial Park
Taneytown
This ride out of Taneytown will vary each week with rides covering parts of Frederick and Carrol counties as well as going into Pennsylvania. The terrain will be flat to moderate.
Tuesdays 6:15 pm B 28 Utica District Park
Climbing and Pacelines
Back again; same ride as last year, but with a new name. We'll climb Catoctin Hollow Road (4 miles); regroup at the top; then descend and regroup again; regroup in Thurmont and paceline quickly, but safely, back to Utica. Cuesheet provided. Expect to sweat.
Wednesdays 8:00 am B 35–50 Wheel Base
Wednesday AM Road Ride
This is a mid-week ride that starts at the Wheel Base Bike shop in Frederick. Call the bike shop in advance for more information.

Utica Wednesdays
Notice the later start time this month.
This is one of our most popular rides attracting a diverse group of riders. We will try new routes along with the old favorites on this mid-week spin where new riders are always welcome. This is a social ride and noone will be left behind. If needed we will regroup periodically or split into two groups when feasible. Usually no go in rain and ride leader duties may alternate during the season so some weeks may be impromptu. Contact clubmail@frederickpedalers.org for more info.
Sundays 8:00 am A/B 35–50 Wheel Base
Sunday Morning Road Ride
The entire group stays together for about an hour then usually breaks into two smaller groups, a faster ride and a slower ride. Ride goes if not too windy and roads are dry. Contact the shop in advance for more information.
