Non-Recurring Rides
Apr 12 (Sat) 10:00 am C 28 Whittier Elementary School
A Quick Tour of Moutaindale, Redux
Let's head out for an early Spring spin through the peaceful back roads of
Frederick County. There is only one tiny, hill-like entity of Lenhart Road, but
what goes up must also come down. We shall ride as a group and no one's behind
will be left. A mid-ride snack sounds good, too. It always does. The ride leader
semi-promises to actually show up this time.
Apr 13 (Sun) 9:30 am B 75 Smithsburg High School
Smithsburg - Mercersburg
If you are planning on riding the century next week, this will be good preparation. There
will be some hills. We'll ride 30 miles to meet John Johnson (this ride's co-author) for lunch
in Mercersburg, then meander our way back to Smithsburg. Bring $ for lunch and a sense of adventure.
Apr 18 (Fri) 8:00 am & 10:00 am B 102 & 65 Rose Hill Plaza & Silo Hill Parkway
Spring Century & Metric
These rides will be a repeat of last fall's century and metric. The terrain is
fairly gentle. The century riders will pick up the metric riders and we will all
endeavor to ride together as a team. Century riders begin at 8:00 am from Rose Hill Plaza and
metric riders should be ready to go at 10:00 am from Silo Hill Parkway in Emmitsburg. We
will not ride fast, but we'll keep stops to a minimum.
Apr 19 (Sat) 9:30 am C 18 Culler Lake
Earth Day Ride
Come celebrate Earth Day with a casual ride beginning at Culler Lake in
downtown Frederick. We will wander south toward Adamstown and back to the Common
Market to enjoy the Earth Day Festival. Return to Culler Lake on your own. Ride
will be about 18 miles with no major hills and at a C pace.
Apr 26 (Sat) 9:30 am C 37 Glade Elementary School
An Old FredPed 1/3 Century
Let's start spring with a spin through the country side and enjoying the
wonderful aroma of farmland in Frederick County. This ride will take you through
three historical covered bridges and all will have the opportunity to take a picture
or two during the ride. Pack a snack or the group will have the opportunity to
stop for food in Thurmont or Woodsboro. No one will be left behind.
Apr 27 (Sun) C 22 Rose Hill Plaza
Mountaindale BBQ Ride
Join Vicki for this easy paced ride up to Mountaindale General Store for
lunch (featuring Texas barbeque.) A few hills, but no one will be dropped.
