Bechtel Tuesdays

The rides leave from the Bechtel parking lot (along the woods) at 5275 Westview Drive (off Crestwood close to Rt. 85) at 6:00 PM. Bring lights (front and rear) as we may still ride into the night. May be some hills, and we'll try to stay together.

Wednesday AM Road Ride

This is a mid-week ride that starts at the Wheel Base bike shop in Frederick.
Contact the shop in advance for more information.

Wednesdays 6:15 pm C 15-20 Utica District Park
Utica Park & Ride

With a new start location for 2007, the Wednesday night rides take on a new look. We'll try some new routes along with the old favorites on this easy mid-week spin where new riders are always welcome. This is a social ride and no one will be left behind. If needed we will regroup periodically or split into two groups when feasible. Usually no go in rain and ride leader duties may alternate through the season so some weeks may be impromptu.

Wednesdays 6:00 pm 17-25 The Bicycle Escape
Wednesday Night Ride

Join the TBE crew every Wednesday night for a ride of 17-25 miles at an 'intermediate' pace of 16-19mph. Contact the shop for more information.

Thursdays 6:00 pm B 25-35 Bechtel
Bechtel Rides

The rides leave from the Bechtel parking lot (along the woods) at 5275 Westview Drive (off Crestwood close to Rt. 85) at 6:00 PM. Bring lights (front and rear) as we may still ride into the night. A couple of hills, no one left behind.

Weekend Rides

Jun 2 (Sat) 9:00 am B+ 44 By-King Rest Stop
Birthday TT

Join the ride leader for his annual birthday spin as he attempts to prove that you only get stronger as you get older. It's a 22 mile out and back route totaling 44 miles. The ride starts from the BKRS and picks up Route 550 at Dublin Road where it heads north through Thurmont, then climbs 550 up toward Sabillasville. Wherever we hit 22 miles that's where we will stop, pausing breifly to admire the scenery before turning around to head back the way we came for the fun descent down Route 77 into Thurmont and back to the start. Please note this is *not* a typical Frederick Pedalers ride where no one is dropped. As the name implies, the goal for this ride is to beat the leader's time from 2006 where the average speed was 17.5 MPH. Consider yourself warned.

Jun 9 (Sat) 8:30 am C 32 Taneytown Memorial Park
Tour from Taneytown

The ride starts in Taneytown ands heads up to Pennsylvania. The terrain is rolling, but there are no big hills. The pace will be an easy C on the hills, and a normal C on the flats. No one will be dropped. No go if it rains.

Jun 10 (Sun) 1:00 pm D 10 Thomas Johnson Middle School
Freeze King Frolic

Join us for an easy spin around town as we try to work up a sweat for sweets at the Freeze King near the end of the ride. This ride will follow the Ride of Silence route from May. Only one 'hill' to speak of but some traffic to contend with.

Jun 17 (Sun) 9:00 am C+/B- 40 Luke's Pizza
Up Sugarloaf Mountain

The only major hill on this ride is Sugarloaf, but it is not as hard as most people think. We will circumnavigate the peak with a total distance of around 40 miles. There will be a rest stop at the top but you will need to carry your snacks and drinks.

Jun 23 (Sat) 8:30 am C 48 Whittier Elementary School
Almost a Straight Shot to Emmitsburg

This traditional ride is for people who would like to ride at C pace. It will be over rolling terrain and is an easy ride unless a strong wind is blowing. Lunch in Emmitsburg; enjoy the scenery from the mountains and Mount St. Mary's.

Jun 23 (Sat) 10:00 am 35 The Bicycle Escape
Saturday Road Ride

Join the TBE crew for a road ride of 35-40 miles at a pace of 15-18mph. Contact the shop for more information.
