Weekday & Evening Rides

Tuesdays 6:00 pm B 25-35 Glade Elementary School
Bechtel Redux
Ride with the Bechtel crew from Glade if you prefer a more civilized ride on Tuesday evenings.

Wednesdays 9:00 am B+ 35-50 Wheel Base
Wednesday AM Road Ride
This is a mid-week ride that starts at the Wheel Base bike shop in Frederick.

Wednesdays 6:15 pm C 20-25 Glade Elementary School
The Glade Brigade
No, this isn't a new squadron of air freshener combat troops. It's an easy mid-week spin where new riders are welcome as this is a social ride and also a recovery ride for those who choose to push harder on Monday and Tuesday nights. No one will be left behind. Usually no go in rain and ride leader duties will alternate through the season so some weeks may be impromptu.

Bechtel Rides
The rides leave from the Bechtel parking lot (along the woods) at 5275 Westview Drive (off Crestwood close to Rt. 85) at 6:00 PM. A couple of hills, no one left behind.

Weekend Rides

Sep 2 (Sat) 8:00 am C (Hilly) 72 Catoctin High School
The Piney Mountain Ride
This will be a slow full day ride north from the farmlands of Frederick County into the orchards of Adams County then we will swing west and climb Piney Mountain with a beautiful view so that we can continue along a beautifully forested mountain valley road. We will eventually descend into some civilization of Franklin County, then climb back up into Washington County before the final long descent into Frederick County.

Sep 3 (Sun) 9:00 am D 18 Lewistown Elementary School
Loopy for Lewistown
We’ll meander along the quiet country roads surrounding Lewistown. It’s not flat, but there are no long hills. One planned rest stop approximately half-way through the ride, and we’ll stop as desired by the group. We will ride as a group and no one will be left behind.

Sep 10 (Sun) 8:30 am B/C Orchard Grove Elementary School
Jefferson-Adamstown-Buckeystown
Despite what you may have thought, you can ride a bike in Frederick County south of the city. We will start inside the city limits at Orchard Grove and wander south on country roads until we get to Jefferson where we turn east and head to Adamstown, then continue east going around Buckeystown before heading back. There are three noticeable climbs on this ride that C riders should be able to handle with some effort. Great views and the rides down the other side make the effort worthwhile. Lots of flat riding in between to give you time to recover.

Sep 16 (Sat) 7:30 am B 70 Monocacy Middle School
Laura's Indeterminate Ride
Could be 70, maybe more or maybe less. Who knows? I sure don't. I can barely find my way to the ride start. We'll be heading north, or east or maybe both. Come along if you like adventure and the excitement of not knowing where you are. Rolling terrain and a pace of 14-15 mph.

Sep 30 (Sat) 8:00 am B/C and D Lewistown Elementary School
Thurmont Breakfast Ride
Join us for either a 15 mile D ride or a 29 mile B/C ride up to the Kountry Kitchen in Thurmont for breakfast. The breakfast stop will be about 8 miles from the start of the D ride and 10 miles from the start of the B/C ride. For more information, contact clubmail@frederickpedalers.org

Sundays 8:00 am A/B 35-50 Wheel Base
The Sunday Morning Road Ride
The entire group stays together for about an hour then usually breaks into two smaller groups, a faster ride and a slower ride. Ride goes if it is not too windy and the roads are dry.
