Wednesdays 6:15 pm C 20-25
Glade Elementary School
The Glade Brigade
No, this isn't a new squadron of air freshener combat troops. It's an easy
mid-week spin where new riders are welcome as this is a social ride and also
a recovery ride for those who choose to push harder on Monday and Tuesday
nights. No one will be left behind. Usually no go in rain and ride leader
duties will alternate through the season so some weeks may be impromptu.
Thursdays 6:00 pm B 25-35
Bechtel
Bechtel Rides
The rides leave from the Bechtel parking lot (along the woods) at 5275
Westview Drive (off Crestwood close to Rt. 85) at 6:00 PM. A couple of hills,
no one left behind.
Weekend Rides
Aug 6 (Sun) 8:30 am C+/B- 50
Loy's Station Park
Fifty on Fifty
In honor of the ride leader's newfound eligibility for AARP, he will lead this one-time
only gala event. The ride will head North from Loy's Station into Pennsylvania and then
(if all goes well) return. There will be a few hills, but no killers. The route is not
finalized but it will be at least 50 miles with a rest stop somewhere in the middle.
Aug 12 (Sat) 8:00 am B/C and D
Lewistown Elementary School
Thurmont Breakfast Ride
Join us for either a 15 mile D ride or a 29 mile B/C ride up to the Kountry Kitchen
in Thurmont for breakfast. The breakfast stop will be about 8 miles from the start
of the D ride and 10 miles from the start of the B/C ride.

Aug 19 (Sat) 8:45 am B/C 62
Central Elementary School
Edgewater - Chesapeake Loop
Come on down to Anne Arundel County for a refreshingly non-challenging [but not easy,
either] metric century ride along the Chesapeake Bay, through tobacco and horse country,
and enjoy some breathtakingly beautiful terrain, from deep forests, to lush tobacco
and corn fields, to horse farms, to panoramic views of the Chesapeake Bay, and historic
farms and estates. This ride is a mix between a C+ and B- pace, and will be done group
style, leaving no one behind. The plan is for lunch in Chesapeake Beach, MD, which is
in Calvert County. For those who are interested, an historic railroad museum is in
Chesapeake Beach, and should be of interest to any who would like to visit. Bring your
cameras, as there will be many photo-ops.
Aug 20 (Sun) 8:30 am C 35
Lewistown Elementary School
Easy Covered Bridges
Want to ride through all three covered bridges, but not take all day to do it? Then
this is your ride. We'll go at an easy pace as we tour Frederick County's historic
covered bridges. We will ride as a group and no one will be left behind.
Sundays 8:00 am A/B 35-50
Wheel Base
The Sunday Morning Road Ride
The entire group stays together for about an hour then usually breaks
into two smaller groups, a faster ride and a slower ride. Ride goes
if it is not too windy and the roads are dry.
Contact the shop in advance for more information.
