The Tuesday Nooner
All cycling levels welcome - you will not be left behind but you might be left ahead.
Ride leaves from The Bicycle Escape at 12:00 noon. Plan to arrive by 11:45 in order to
be ready at noon sharp. Please park by Giant as parking can get pretty tight around
Five Guys Burgers and the Cold Stone Creamery (especially around lunch).
Contact the shop in advance for more information.

Wednesdays 6:00 pm C 20-25
Glade Elementary School
The Glade Brigade
No, this isn't a new squadron of air freshener combat troops. It's an easy
mid-week spin where new riders are welcome as this is a social ride and also
a recovery ride for those who choose to push harder on Monday and Tuesday
nights. No one will be left behind. Usually no go in rain and ride leader
duties will alternate through the season so some weeks may be impromptu. The
first Wednesday ride on April 5th will definitely be impromptu but there will
be ride leaders more reglarly beginning the following Wednesday on April 12th.
Thursdays 6:00 pm B 25-35
Bechtel
Bechtel Rides
The rides leave from the Bechtel parking lot (along the woods) at 5275
Westview Drive (off Crestwood close to Rt. 85) at 6:00 PM. Bring lights
(front and rear) as we may still ride into the night. A couple of hills,
no one left behind.
Weekend Rides
April TBA 10:00 am C 30
Glade Elementary School
Orchard Oasis
We'll ride from Glade Elementary School up past Thurmont and through the Catoctin
Mountian Orchard to see the fruit trees in all their spring blossom glory. Since the
blossoms are dependent on local weather conditions, the scheduled day for this ride
is TBA however it will be a Saturday or Sunday. A similar ride last year on April
17th was a bit too early to see the trees in full bloom. If this year is similar,
expect the ride to occur sometime in the latter half of April. An email will go out
to club members as soon as the date is known, but may only provide a few days
advance notice. Please contact the ride leader if you don't receive regular club
email notifications. We will likely stop at the Sheetz in Thurmont on the way to or
from the Orchard.
Apr 2 (Sun) 7:30 am B 42
Monocacy Middle School
2 Covered Bridges
We'll ride up to Thurmont and over (or through - your choice) two covered bridges.
April 2 (Sun) 10:00 am until 2:00 pm All Levels
Gambrill State Park
Specialized Demo Day
Sponsored by The Bicycle Escape, bicycle manufacturer Specialized will be
bringing a selection of road and mountain bikes to the Frederick Overlook
in Gambril State Park for riders to try on the roads and trails in the area.
While there will be road bikes at this event, it is more geared to mountain
bikes that can take advantage of the numerous off-road riding opportunities
in the park. Contact the shop by phone for more information.

Apr 23 10:00 am D 20
Lewistown Elementary School
Loopy for Lewistown
The epic journey that changed the ride leader's life is back for 2006.
We'll meander along the quiet country roads surrounding Lewistown. It's not
flat, but there are no long hills. One planned rest stop approximately half-way
through the ride, and we'll stop as desired by the group. We will ride as a
group and no one will be left behind.
No go in typhoon or locusts.
Apr 28 (Fri) 8:30 am B 100
Thurmont Food Lion
Spring Century
We will probably take a route that goes thru Fairfield, South Mountain,
Shriver's Corner and Bonneauville. Bring low gears, as this ride will
be hilly/mountainous. I'll have options of 50, 79, 83 and 88 miles.
Sundays 8:00 am A/B 35-50
Wheel Base
The Sunday Morning Road Ride
The entire group stays together for about an hour then usually breaks
into two smaller groups, a faster ride and a slower ride. Ride goes
if it is not too windy and the roads are dry.
Contact the shop in advance for more information.
