Evening Rides

Mondays 6:00 pm B/B+ Bechtel
Bechtel Rides
The rides leave from the Bechtel parking lot (along the woods) at 5275 Westview Drive (off Crestwood close to Rt. 85) at 6:00 PM. Bring lights (front and rear); a couple of hills, no one left behind.

Wednesdays 6:15 pm B 25-30 Luke's Pizza Lights and Pizza
We’ll do flats or hills, depending upon the wishes of those present (and the amount of arm-twisting that happens). Lights are an absolute necessity. Suggestions: Use a headlight of 2.5 watts (at the very least) - but 6 watts or more is better. Also mandatory is a rear taillight. We also suggest the use of a reflective vest and/or leg bands. Also remember that the temperatures will be dropping throughout the ride. Pizza or sandwiches at Luke’s after the ride.

Weekend and Weekday Rides

Every Wednesday 9:00 am B+ 35-50 Wheel Base Wednesday AM Road Ride
This is a mid-week ride that starts at Wheelbase Bicycles in Frederick. Sometimes we’ll ride on the road, sometimes in the Watershed (off-road). Call the bike shop in advance for more information. Wheel Base: 301-663-9288.

Every Sunday 9:00 am A/B 35-50 Wheel Base The Sunday Morning Road Ride
The entire group stays together for about an hour then usually breaks into two smaller groups, a faster ride and a slower ride. Ride goes if it is not too windy and the roads are dry. Wheel Base: 301-663-9288.

Jan 1 (Sun) 11:00 am All - Distance TBA Based on Conditions - New Year's Day Ride
Start the year pedaling! New Year's Day ride for those of you not too hungover, or to afraid to brave the cold. Maybe we'll get lucky and the weather will be in the upper 60's like January 1, 2005! Distance will be determined by temperature and weather conditions. Ride will start at Frederick Coffee Company at 100 East Street (on the corner of East and Church St). After the ride we'll share some hot drinks and good company in the coffee shop. All levels welcome.

Jan 14 (Sat) 10:00 am C+ 20-40 Rose Hill Plaza Bagel Rides XIII
"Ride The Bagel" rides are back for this winter. Don't sit at home all winter - come on out for the Bagel Rides. The distance and hills will vary depending on the weather. Warm 40+, will be 40 miles and hilly. Colder less miles and less hills. After the ride lunch at the ZiPani Bagel store.

Jan 15 (Sun) 11:00 am C/D 13 Culler Lake 'Round Town
Come out for a casual ride around town following parts of the Woodsboro Breakfast Ride. We'll meet at Culler Lake near the baseball field. No go in snow or 'wintry mix'.

Feb 11 (Sat) 10:00 am C+ 20-40 Rose Hill Plaza Bagel Rides XIV
Mo' better carbs like the ones from January.

Feb 18 (Sat) 11:00 am B- 48 Catoctin HS Annual Birthday Ride (Geezer Fest 2006?)
Here we go again. If the weather cooperates we’ll try for the full 48 miles. If it does not, we’ll not ride as far. We may do a sit-down restaurant stop, too.
