Bechtel Rides
The rides leave from the Bechtel parking lot (along the woods) at 5275 Westview
Drive (off Crestwood close to Rt. 85) at 6:00 PM. Mileage will depend on available
daylight (tail light recommended), speed will be category B/B+ with a couple of
hills, no one left behind.
Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:00 pm B 25-35
Glade Elementary School
Tuesday/Thursday Road Ride
The racers are starting from here, so don’t get confused. We’re easy to tell
apart — they’re looking at the finish line, we’re looking at the waist line.
Expect a pace of about 15-17 mph. Impromptu.
Wednesdays 6:00 pm C 20-25
Glade Elementary School
The Glide from Glade
The ride title says it all! We’ll go at a very easy pace. New riders
are welcome, as this will be a social ride and also a recovery ride for those
who choose to push harder on Monday and Tuesday nights. No one will be
left behind. Usually no go in rain and ride leader duties will alternate
through the season so there's always a chance of an impromptu ride.
Please Note: This will be the last month of Wednesday night rides
for 2005 as sunset times move into the 6:00 hour by the end of this month.

Frederick Pedalers Century Check-Out Ride
We are planning to do the century today as a check-out ride. Our goal is to
ride at an average pace of 16 mph in order for one of us to set a new PR. We’ll
have cue sheets available for all of the rides. Feel free to join us and ride any
of the five routes at whatever pace suits you.
Date & Time TBA B Up to 95 miles
Hancock
Coast to Coast to Cure Cancer
This Frederick Pedalers ride is tentatively scheduled to coincide with a group
of four cyclists who are riding cross country to raise awareness and money for cancer
research. They started from Anacortes, WA on August 14th 2005 and will finish 32 riding
days later in Newark, DE. Day 29 of their trip takes them from Hancock, MD to
Westminster, MD which should fall somewhere between the 11th and 14th of September.
We may ride with them for all or just part of their distance that day.

Loopy for Lewistown
We'll meander along the quiet country roads surrounding Lewistown. It's not flat, but
there are no significant hills. One planned rest stop approximately half-way through the
ride, and we will stop as desired by the group. We will ride as a group and no one will
be left behind. No go in rain, snow, hurricane or slick roads.
Sep 18 (Sun) 8:45 am C+/B- 67
Central Elementary School - Edgewater, MD
4th Annual Chesapeake Bay Ride
This ride is a visual as well as a cycling feast. We will begin in Edgewater, MD, and
we will ride through Anne Arundel County horse country along the Patuxent River, winding
through varied woodland and farms, even past a peacock farm, ending up in North Beach, in
Calvert County. We will eat lunch in Chesapeake Beach, only a few miles further. Our
return route will take us along the Bay shoreline for several miles, past rolling hills
and farmland, including the historic Tocara Farm, an 18th century working farm. The
route takes us through agricultural activities not always present or visible in
Frederick County. We will conclude with a long, smooth straightaway along Solomon's
Island Rd [aka MD-2], winding down from the day's ride. Each year we have done this
ride there have been more and more riders. If you have missed it in the past, do not
miss it now. This ride is a treasure.
