Weekday and Evening Rides

Tuesdays 6:00 pm B Bechtel
Bechtel Rides
The rides leave from the Bechtel parking lot (along the woods) at 5275 Westview Drive (off Crestwood close to Rt. 85) at 6:00 PM. Mileage will depend on available daylight (tail light recommended), speed will be category B/B+ with a couple of hills, no one left behind.

Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:00 pm B 25-35 Glade Elementary School
Tuesday/Thursday Road Ride
The racers are starting from here, so don’t get confused. We’re easy to tell apart — they’re looking at the finish line, we’re looking at the waist line. Expect a pace of about 15-17 mph. Impromptu.

Wednesdays 6:00 pm C 20-25 Glade Elementary School
The Glide from Glade
The ride title says it all! We’ll go at a very easy pace. New riders are welcome, as this will be a social ride and also a recovery ride for those who choose to push harder on Monday and Tuesday nights. No one will be left behind. Usually no go in rain and ride leader duties will alternate through the season so there's always a chance of an impromptu ride.

Wednesday AM Road Ride
This is a mid-week ride that starts at Wheel Base Bicycles in Frederick. Call the bike shop in advance for more information. Wheel Base: 301-663-9288.

Weekend Rides

Jul 3 (Sun) 6:00 am C+/B- 77 Monocacy Middle School
The Easy Way to Gettysburg
Up to Gettysburg and back at a pace of about 13-15 mph on rolling terrain. Optional stop for breakfast. Please arrive early as ride will depart at 6:00 am SHARP!

Jul 9 (Sat) 9:00 am B-ish 48 Walkersville Community Park
Into the Bush
We'll ride up to Emmitsburg via Kelbaugh, Eyler's Valley, Hampton Valley. There's a short section (.5 mile or less) of hard packed dirt. We'll let the weather and group dictate pace.

Jul 17 (Sun) 8:30 am D 20 Lewistown Elementary School
Loopy for Lewistown
We'll meander along the quiet country roads surrounding Lewistown. It's not flat, but there are no significant hills. One planned rest stop approximately half-way through the ride, and we will stop as desired by the group. We will ride as a group and no one will be left behind. Earlier start this month to beat the heat.

Jul 23 (Sat) 6:15 am B 70 Monocacy Middle School
Hagerstown-Smithsburg-Thurmont
West on MD40 into Hagerstown for a short stop, then north to Smithsburg, East over the mountain on MD77 to Thurmont for another stop, then home to Frederick and blessed relief. Several good climbs, steady pace, and one fantastic downhill into Thurmont.

Every Sunday 8:00 am A/B 35-50 Wheel Base
The Sunday Morning Road Ride
The entire group stays together for about an hour then usually breaks into two smaller groups, a faster ride and a slower ride. Ride goes if it is not too windy and the roads are dry. Wheel Base: 301-663-9288.
