Tuesday/Thursday Road Ride
The racers are starting from here, so don’t get confused. We’re easy to tell
apart — they’re looking at the finish line, we’re looking at the waist line.
Expect a pace of about 15-17 mph. As it's starting to get dark earlier now,
the start times may move up as the month goes on. Rides in September will
most likely be impromptu.
Wednesdays 6:00 pm C 20-25
Glade Elementary School
Start Slow, Then Ease Off
The ride title says it all! We’ll go at a very easy pace. New riders
are welcomed, as this will be a social ride and a recovery ride for those
who choose to push harder on Monday and Tuesday nights. No one will be
left behind. The ride leader duties will be shared and thus will vary.
Ride lengths in September will be dictated by available daylight.

Chesapeake Bay Ride
Come on down to Annapolis, and ride through some of the most relaxing and easily cyclable terrain
in the central Atlantic Coast area. Our ultimate destination is Chesapeake, Beach, MD, in Calvert
County, and we will ride along the Bay for several miles. The route will also wander along the
Patuxent River area, as well as through horse farms, cornfields, and some really beautiful
rolling/flat roads, many without center lines on them. We will view agriculture which exists
in a manner not generally common in Frederick County. We will be riding by a farm where peacocks
freely wander the highway. And of course, there will be numerous and spectacular views of the
Bay. Lunch will be in Chesapeake Beach. The last 7 miles is nearly totally flat riding, not
unlike MD-194, with equally wide shoulders. This is a very speical ride, as last year's
participants will attest. No one will be left behind -- high speed is not a requirement. So, come
on down, and enjoy a fabulous ride. Glenn Angus 410-729-1494 ironbikr@aol.com

2004 Frederick Pedalers Club Century
Our annual no-frills, no-cost, no-sag century and metric return for 2004. We've
got a much flatter route this year than the last two. The rides pass over rolling
terrain through Detour and Taneytown into Pennsylvania. They diverge here - the
century ride will go on to Abbottstown PA and the metric century will meander its
way back to Thurmont. You will get a cue sheet and map for the rides and a chance
to explore some unfamiliar territory. Restaurants and stores available every 20
miles or so. Bring some food and/or money, a couple of water bottles, patch kit,
etc. There is no official ride leader. Please park away from the Food Lion, near
Wendy's.
