Evening Rides

Mondays 6:00 pm B+/A 25-35 Wheel Base
Monday Night Road Ride
Expect an average pace of 16-18 mph; there will be “no attacks” on this ride; just a friendly, fast-pace. There will usually be one break for food / drink — not necessarily at a store. Ride cancelled if raining or rain is imminent. Wheelbase Bikes, 301-663-9288.

Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:00 pm B 25-35 Glade Elementary School
Tuesday/Thursday Road Ride
The racers are starting from here, so don’t get confused. We’re easy to tell apart — they’re looking at the finish line, we’re looking at the waist line. Expect a pace of about 15-17 mph. Some nights it’s an impromptu ride.

Wednesdays 6:15 pm C 20-25 Glade Elementary School
Start Slow, Then Ease Off
The ride title says it all! We’ll go at a very easy pace. New riders are welcomed, as this will be a social ride and a recovery ride for those who choose to push harder on Monday and Tuesday nights. No one will be left behind. The ride leader duties will be shared and thus will vary.

Weekend and Weekday Rides

Wednesday AM Road Ride
This is a mid-week ride that starts at Wheel Base Bicycles in Frederick. Call the bike shop in advance for more information. Wheel Base: 301-663-9288.

Sundays 8:00 am A/B 35-50 Wheel Base
The Sunday Morning Road Ride
The entire group stays together for about an hour then usually breaks into two smaller groups, a faster ride and a slower ride. Ride goes if it is not too windy and the roads are dry. Wheelbase: 301-663-9288.

May 7 (Fri) 7:00 am ALL East Street MARC Station
Bike to Work Day
Meet at City Hall for a ride to the MARC station in the morning for snacks, juice, etc., then cycle to work.

May 7 (Fri) 4:30 pm ALL Myersville Elementary School
Bike Safety Fair
The folks at State Farm are holding their annual Bike Safety fair in Myersville this year. We need volunteers for all or part of the time period 4:30—8 pm. We’ll inspect kids’ bikes, pump up tires, and generally point the way.

May 9 (Sun) 8:30 am C 55/62 Emmitsburg Shopping Center
Apple Blossoms
Ride around Adams County to see the Apple Blossoms. Shorter option is included. Breakfast stop at mile 10.

May 22 (Sat) 9:00 am C+/B- 40-50 Carol Manor Elementary School
Sugarloaf Ride
Take a rolling ride to Sugarloaf. We will loop around to get the mileage up in the 40 - 50 mile range. The Sugarloaf hill is not that hard. Pack a snack and water, the rest stop will be at the top.
