Luke's Pizza
Lights, Pizza and Trainspotting
We’ll do flats or hills, depending upon the wishes of those present
(and the amount of arm-twisting that happens). Lights are an
absolute necessity. Suggestions: Use a headlight of 2.5 watts
(at the very least) - but 6 watts or more is better. Also mandatory
is a rear taillight. We also suggest the use of a reflective vest
and/or leg bands. Also remember that the temperatures will be
dropping throughout the ride. Pizza or sandwiches at Luke’s after the ride.

Wednesday Morning Whatever
This is a mid-week ride that starts at Wheelbase Bicycles in Frederick.
Sometimes we’ll ride on the road, sometimes in the Watershed
(off-road). Call the bike shop in advance for more information.

Wheel Base
The Sunday Morning Road Ride
The entire group stays together for about an hour then usually breaks
into two smaller groups, a faster ride and a slower ride.
Ride goes if it is not too windy and the roads are dry. Wheelbase: 301-663-9288.

Sand Flats
The Sunday Morning Trail Ride
This is an off-road ride that begins on January 11. Ride canceled if below
20 degrees or raining/snowing. Call Wheel Base (301-663-9288) for more
information. Directions to start point: Take MD 40 west from Frederick, then
turn right onto Gambrill Park Rd. Meet where it splits into Tower Rd and the

Point of Rocks Boat Ramp (VA Side)
Waterford
Meet at the boat launch on the Virginia side for a ride to Waterford.

Bethel E.L.Church / Orchard Village Shop Ctr.
Century to PA
If you wish to ride the full 130 miles, meet at 7:15 at Bethel E.L. Church. If you wish to ride a more
sensible 100 miles, meet at 8:30 at Orchard Village Shopping Center in Thurmont. Rolling terrain, stops
every 30 miles, average rolling speed of 15 mph. Cue sheet provided.

Whittier Elementary School
Approximately a Straight Shot to Emmitsburg
Back by popular demand for the seventh straight year! Over rolling terrain,
this is an easy ride (unless a strong wind is blowing). Lunch in Emmitsburg,
enjoy the scenery from The Mount. An option will be available to climb
'The Hill' on Putman Road.

Hancock
Western Maryland Rail-Trail Ride
The Borkmen will lead a D ride at 10 am from Hancock west on the newer section
of the paved rails-to-trail with the distance being about 20 miles or less. Meet
for the ride where the trail intersects with Pennsylvania
Avenue.
