Ride Schedule
January & February 2004

Wednesdays 6:15 pm B 20-30 Luke's Pizza Lights, Pizza and Trainspotting
We’ll do flats or hills, depending upon the wishes of those present (and the amount of arm-twisting that happens). Lights are an absolute necessity. Suggestions: Use a headlight of 2.5 watts (at the very least) - but 6 watts or more is better. Also mandatory is a rear taillight. We also suggest the use of a reflective vest and/or leg bands. Also remember that the temperatures will be dropping throughout the ride. Pizza or sandwiches at Luke’s after the ride.

Weekend and Weekday Rides

Every Wednesday 9:00 am B+ 35-50 Wheel Base Wednesday Morning Whatever
This is a mid-week ride that starts at Wheelbase Bicycles in Frederick. Sometimes we’ll ride on the road, sometimes in the Watershed (off-road). Call the bike shop in advance for more information. Wheelbase: 301-663-9288.

Every Sunday 9:00 am A/B 35-50 Wheel Base The Sunday Morning Road Ride
The entire group stays together for about an hour then usually breaks into two smaller groups, a faster ride and a slower ride. Ride goes if it is not too windy and the roads are dry. Wheelbase: 301-663-9288.

Every Sunday 9:00 am 2-3 Hours Sand Flats The Sunday Morning Trail Ride
This is an off-road ride that begins on January 11. Ride canceled if below 20 degrees or raining/snowing. Call Wheel Base (301-663-9288) for more information. Directions to start point: Take MD 40 west from Frederick, then turn right onto Gambrill Park Rd. Meet where it splits into Tower Rd and the right-hand fork. Tom Peperone (Wheel Base), 301-663-9288.

Jan 10 (Sat) 9:00 am C+ 20-40 Rose Hill Plaza Bagel Rides VII
The Bagel rides are back for this winter. Don't sit at home all winter-come on out for the Bagel Rides. The distance and hills will vary depending on the weather. Warm 40+, will be 40 miles and hilly. Colder less miles and less hills. After the ride lunch at the ZiPani Bagel store.

Feb 8 (Sun) 9:00 am C+ 20-40 Rose Hill Plaza Bagel Rides VIII
The Bagel rides continue. Don't sit at home all winter-come on out for the Bagel Rides. The distance and hills will vary depending on the weather. Warm 40+, will be 40 miles and hilly. Colder less miles and less hills. After the ride lunch at the ZiPani Bagel store.

Feb 14 (Sat) 9:30 am B- 48 Trout's (Emmitsburg) Geezers Unite!
The ride leader reaches 46 today. Commiserate with him. We’ll take it easy; we’re probably all out of shape. This is an adaptation of the Emmitsburg Festival routes we did several years ago. We’ll pick up a quick bite to eat in Gettysburg. Ride may go regardless of the weather.
