2008 Race Across America

The 2008 Race Across America passes through Mt Airy, MD next June. Mt Airy Bicycles will be the official "penalty stop" for the riders. (Translation: good place to meet the riders).

Watch this space for more info as the race draws nearer.

Warm Up Your Winter Training

As the cooler temperatures have taken up residence making their presence felt along our favorite training roads, we need to make adjustments to our riding programs to accommodate. Just like in harvest which depend on the late rains of autumn, we can reap a fruitful season ahead with some simple tasks in preparation, such as: addressing any strains, aches, or pains with a program tailored for your biomechanics!

Local professional cycling coach, Beth Leasure is making a one-time only offer of $50 per session for an on and off-the bike posture/positioning analysis either for a Bike Fit or Winter Strength Conditioning Session. This offer expires at the end of November. Beth is a USCF-licensed coach and a certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She has studied biomechanics, postural analysis-pain management, and various forms of mat-based conditioning.

For more information, please contact: bethleasure AT juno.com or by cell 301-573-9010

FredCo Gets a New Transportation Planner

Our county has a new person in charge of transportation planning. His name is John Thomas.

A club member spoke to him about bicycling conditions in our County recently and found him to be a good listener. Perhaps we'll have a good window of opportunity now to make some inroads into getting the County to better accommodate bicycling.

You may welcome Mr. Thomas by email at jbthomas AT fredco-md.net

You Have Mail !

Do we have your current email address? The club normally sends out at least one email message a month to all members. If you’ve not received any club email in the last few months, it is likely that we do not have your current address. Email us at clubmail@frederickpedalers.org using your preferred account.
