What You Get for Your $:
The cost of this ride is zero
We’ll provide cue sheets and maps
You should bring money for stores

Ride History:
The original version of this ride was created by the Hanover Cyclers as one of their Labor Day Century rides back in the early 1990’s. It was stolen by two people from PPTC and became "An Excellent Century". (I was one of those two people). The Baltimore Bicycling Club then stole that ride to create one of their own. I’ve updated it a couple of times over the past years to take advantage of better-paved roads, to avoid traffic, and to incorporate more rest stops.

Terrain:
This ride has no really big hills. Most of the time, it is gently rolling and the roads are generally traffic-free. You will encounter some traffic near the rest stops in towns.

Rest Stops:
Century—at miles 21.5, 38.9, 49.2, 56.7, 75.4, 83.2, and 88.6.
Metric—at miles 17.2, 27.5, 35.7, and 54.4
Stop at the ones you want, skip the others.

Maps and Cue Sheets:
Vicki and Bill Smith will be on-hand at the start points in the time-periods noted above. We’ll distribute the cue sheets and maps, and answer any of your questions about the ride. You may also see us out there on the road in our van. We’ll leave cue sheets behind for late arrivals. If you wish to leave earlier than our arrival times, download the cue sheets and maps from the web site. If they are not there as you read this, check back daily.

The place to go is http://www.frederickpedalers.org/pages/cuesheets.htm.

Note: Bill's cell phone number will be on the cue sheets handed out at the ride, but not the ones on the web site.

Civil War Century Cyclist Injury

Hugh Macintosh was the cyclist hit by a pickup truck during the Civil War Century ride on September 15th. He rides with the Baltimore Bicycling Club. The accident happened around mile 70 on the downhill portion of Jacks Mountain Road. Authorities are trying to piece together the incident and would appreciate if any eye-witnesses can contact the police at (717) 334-8111.

He is making progress and his family is very hopeful considering the extent of his injuries. Thanks to everyone for pulling for him.
