Talley Recreation Center for the 2007 Annual Meeting. Our special guest speaker will be Bill Kelly. Mr. Kelley spent many years with the College Park Area Bicycle Coalition lobbying and advocating for cycling issues and had a huge impact on the quality of cycling resources in that area. The club will provide the usual drinks, cups, plates, plastic ware, etc. Food will be provided however you may bring a dish to share if you are so inclined.
Also on the agenda: Exit, Stage Left (by Bill Smith)March 3rd will be the club’s annual meeting and election of officers. It has been my intention for a little while to back off from my involvement as an officer so I can do other tasks (such as advocacy, leading rides and improving my spare shooting). We are still looking for at least two officers— President and Administrative Vice President. I can tell you that neither of these jobs is a difficult job, nor terribly timeconsuming. And each job is personally rewarding (and a great way to meet chicks). Okay. Perhaps not. Nonetheless, your club needs a pair of volunteers! There are numerous people that deserve a round of thanks. At the very great certainty of missing someone, I am going to try to name as many of them as I can. These people have served as officers and have made my tenure easier and enjoyable: John Munns, Bob and Kathy Dollar, Brian King, Vicki Smith, Joan Wicks, Chris Borkman, Vicki Crum, Martha Anderson, Randy Buxbaum and Steve Walter. Also too numerous to mention would be everyone who has volunteered in any way over the last several years. I thank all of you. Anyway, it is time for someone with more energy than I have to take the reins and go forward. 2007 Stop, Swap & Save Don't miss the 10th annual upcoming STOP, SWAP, AND SAVE bicycle swap meet. The mid-Atlantic’s biggest bike swap and sale will take place on February 4th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm (snow date February 11th, 2007) at the Carroll County Agricultural Center in Westminster, MD. This year’s Swap will be bigger and better than ever and will feature over 300 vendors. Whether you’re looking for road, mountain, BMX, tri or vintage, there is something for everyone at the Swap. Admission is still just $5.00 to over 30,000 square feet of great cycling deals. All buildings are heated and breakfast and lunch are available for purchase.Get all the info here: http://www.stopswapandsave.com/swap_meet.html
