RAAM

The Race Across America comes through Western Maryland and southern Pennsylvania (on the way to an Atlantic City finish) again this year. The race begins on the west coast on June 11. Check it out at http://www.raceacrossamerica.org. There will be time stations in LaVale MD, Hancock MD, Rouzerville PA and Hanover PA again this year. Look for their appearances around June 18. You can follow the progress of the racers and see estimated time station arrival times at the above website.

Canal Awareness Day

History in Motion at the C&O Canal’s Catoctin Aqueduct
Saturday June 17, 2006
10 AM – 3 PM on the old C&O Canal at Lander, MD

The whole family is welcomed to come and experience first-hand and up-close exposure to the engineering, architectural and social history of the 1834 Catoctin Aqueduct and its 1834 companion the B&O Railroad stone viaduct.
